Tasting Notes

From our Chief Tea Taster
Submit
Aroma
Big notes of burnt wood, smoky punctuated by subtle tree fruity undertones, cedar and wet vegetation.
Appearance
Amber
Taste
A light-bodied, lively cup with pronounced notes of burnt wood and a suave smokiness enveloping the palate completely from the first sip.

These flavours define the character of the cup, interrupted briefly by a mild sweetness of green apples complemented by a furtive marine note which comes through at the end. A sweet nuttiness comes through in the aftertaste.

It's a smooth and lovely tea. I love having this in the afternoon time.

Soft natural flavour

Nostalgic for tea available some decades ago . .
Luckily our taste buds are not conditioned to tend to be spoilt.
Otherwise it would take more days to discern the closeness of nature.

Among the best high grown

Even a connoisseur, I am one, would rate it one of the best.

A lovely new ritual

Not only do I find the freshness and subtle depths of taste of the tea itself enjoyable, I so like the ritual of steeping and waiting a really positive new part of my routine. A pause in the day and an abundance of taste.

The tea is good...

The tea is good , it won’t taste bitter like the teas you get from the popular brands because of your processing and packing- Thank you

Flavorful!

I used to drink your basic orange pekoe tea, the one in bags. I thought I would try the Darjeeling Lopchu Orange Pekoe Black. I have enjoyed a few different Darjeeling teas and wondered how this one would be. There is no comparison. It is fresh, with the slight orange taste, much more flavorful than the standard bag ones from the grocery store.

My favorite tea

This tea is my favorite tea I have ever tried. It is a gentle tea, with none of the flavors clubbing you over the head. It is subtly smoky-ish, and smells and tastes like walking into an old bookstore with a creaky wooden floor. Not fruity or floral at all, which is OK w me. I would describe it as comfortable.

Teas of the Lopchu...

Teas of the Lopchu garden are definitely distinct on 2 counts probably - the soil and in it's making.
